THE BREED PERSIAN

The Persian cat is a cat breed characterized by having a broad, flat face and a thick coat of many colors. They are commonly regarded as aristocratic cats (75% of registered pedigree cats are Persians). The first Persian cats were introduced into Italy from Persia (now Iran) in the 1620s and their descendants were called in many ways. Current Persian branch was developed in the late 1800s in England and comes from the Turkish Angora cat.
at fortunescats we produce Persians van, white Persians, solid persian, and Persian exotic. also those of odd and blue eyes which are reserved for breeding

THE EXOTIC RACE - IT IS THE GARFIELD CAT
It is characterized by being of a medium to large size and with long hair the Persians and short hair are exotic. It has a round, massive head and a wide skull. The front is rounded and the cheekbones are strong and prominent. It has a short snout and a strong and full chin. The eyes are large, round, wide open and separated, of a very intense and bright color. The ears of the Persian cat are small and rounded at the tips and covered with hair that is born from the inside out. Thus, they go unnoticed, confused with the long hair of the back, legs and head. The flat nose and between the two eyes.
The body of the Persian cat is muscular and rounded and has a robust bony structure. It stands out above the legs that are small and thick.
It has abundant hair, thick, long and silky touch. The tail is hairy and rounded at the end. Thus, we can say that Persian cats do not stand out for being slender but rather solid, rounded and robust.
The Persian cat and the exotic gaot can be of very different colors. There is a single color matched, intense and without lighter shades, such as black, white, blue, chocolate, lilac, red and cream. There are also the two colors that are the combination of a color with white, which are with low white and high color; and others with high white and low color, these being called according to their percentage of color, Arlequin and Van, being Arlequin: with few spots of color on the body. Van: only color on the head and tail.
The current Persian and exotic cats are compact body. They have a snub nose on a large round head. Its abundant and exuberant coat is its main characteristic. These cats are family, they love being with children. It is a lap cat. Your coat requires a daily brushing regular baths are also suitable.
There are also the Himalayan Persians, these differ from the Persians in the fur. A Himalayan Persian cat has all the characteristics of a Persian but its fur is similar in color to Siamese. A Himalayan has the same color variants as Siamese, and can be named depending on the color of the distal parts (blue, red chocolate, lilac, etc.).
Himalayan cats have blue eyes, the point of color or colorpoint should be on their ears, legs, back and tail and the rest of the coat should be white or cream. The most common color spots are: chocolate, lilac, cream, flame, tortoise shell, lynx, blue.
Persian and exotic cats are quiet, they are called tigers on the couch because they like to sleep and rest. This breed of cats demands a lot of care and dedication from the owners.

NEUTER AND FELINE SPAY

The theme of the cat neutered or not often generate controversy. It is a difficult decision that the owners must make when we choose to share our lives with this animal. It is generally assumed that if you castrate go against their nature (and partly is) and will deprive you enjoy your sexual life. But the truth is that animals do not live like people sexuality for them sex is just a physical process to reproduce. So, the only thing that deprive is to reproduce.
On this basis, it is to us to decide how we want to live with the cat develops over the next few years of our lives. If we decide not castrate the animal, we have to know that several times a year the cat or cat is in heat and this will lead to a series of consequences that we assume and accept.
The cats FortunesCats for pet, are delivered castrated before going to their new home, without exception.
Cats have a very fast sexual maturation. Cats have their first heat between five and twelve months of age (depending on breed, weight, health, or the presence of other cats in their territory) and cats somewhat later (depending on weight over the age).
The period of sexual activity also depends on several factors such as diet, health or stimulation by signals from other congeners. But more crucial is the length of daylight hours and temperature.
In central Europe the domestic cat usually enter estrus in February, June and October. The race has the zeal usually in February and June. Unable to determine the exact date, because every race and every cat has a particular cycle.
During the days of the zeal, the cat eats less, it moves from side to side, meows and rubs his head on objects or familiar people. The culminating day of the period (usually the third) the cat is more nervous, writhes on the floor near the trusted person will increase the volume and frequency of their meows (to attract males) and legs and licks the great organs. When caresses, arches its back, the front and low kicks with the hind legs.
If you are prevented from mating the cat in heat for a prolonged period can cause hormonal disorders and may develop a permanent heat (twenty days), a false pregnancy or pyometra.
Unlike the cat, the male may have the zeal at any time, you do not have at certain periods. The cat is in heat shows that splashes leaving an overwhelming smell of urine around the house, meowing loudly, licking her genitals and moving restlessly. The cat does not have a cat in heat will try to force young or pregnant cats, even kittens male.
The only way to stop this behavior is to subject the animal to castration.
WHAT IS THE SPAYING?
Castration is the surgical removal of genital glands; in the male testes (castration) and ovaries (oophorectomy) or ovaries and uterus (ovariohysterectomy) in the female. When sex hormones are no longer produced, the animal sexual desires are suppressed and therefore the zeal and behavior that this entailed.
WHAT IS THE NEUTERING?
Unlike castration, sterilization leaves intact sexual organs, keeping the sexual instinct in animals but making them sterile. In this operation genital hormone-producing glands (testes and ovaries) are not removed, only the spermatic ducts Cat (vasectomy) or the oviducts of the cat (tubal ligation) are cut. Thus the inconvenience of sexual behavior in animals are not removed, the cats are meowing, being nervous, running away from home, wandering and leaving urine remains an unpleasant odor.
WHICH IS BETTER SPAYED OR NEUTERED?
Depends on what you want for your cat better one option or another. If you mainly want is to eradicate behavior that causes the heat, the best option is castrating. If you simply want our pet does not procreate, no matter the inconvenience of heat, it is advisable to sterilize.
Although castration is a simple operation, as all surgery has some risk, largely due to the use of anesthetics. The day of surgery, the animal must reach operating room without having eaten anything for twelve hours prior without having anything to drink before six. The operation itself lasts only a few minutes in the case of males and half an hour in the case of females.
All males (barring complications) and some females are allowed to go home the same day of surgery. The majority of females they are held at the clinic for a period of twenty four hours to ensure the tranquility of the cat and the optimal conditions for reinstatement.
Sterilization is a more complicated and more expensive than castration intervention. As noted earlier, the operation produces sterility in animals but does not stop the production of sex hormones, which sexual behavior so annoying for owners is not removed.
WHY CASTRATE MY CAT?
• The animal will not need to go out and all the dangers that entails, such as fighting, parasites and infections (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia) is conserved.
• Our pet will not come outside to satisfy their sexual instinct and therefore not preñará or stay pregnant and will not be responsible for bringing the world to future stray cats. A cat may have three to four litters a year, with an average of four pups per litter. Many of these kittens end up living on the streets in poor condition, rummaging through garbage cans, sewers and even in private homes.
• the inconvenience of their sexual behavior (constant and sharp meows females and the unpleasant odor of urine from males) are removed. Neutered cats turn out to be a more docile, affectionate and calm animals, and contrary to popular belief, their behavior does not change other basics (do not lose their hunting instinct, and agility, and elegance).
• in females prevents psychological pregnancy, pyometra and some mammary tumors, and in males, testicular tumors, perianal hernias, Hepatoid gland tumors, tumors of perianal glands, prostate tumors and cysts.
• Increases longevity of the animal.
WHEN TO CASTRATE MY CAT?
Like other veterinary matters, this is a topic of considerable controversy. There are veterinarians who advise neutering the animal in a very early age (before puberty), while others are inclined to do so after the first heat.
Neutering or cat when the cat is very young has the advantage of inhibiting sexual behavior before it starts. Conversely, there are professionals who claim to prevent urinary disorders, and never when the animal is in estrus. Even after having had several deliveries can castrate a cat.
However, castration can be performed at any time during the life of the cat or cat.
CONSEQUENCES CASTRATE THE CAT
Depending on the cat and race after castration can we notice some changes in our companion
• Exercise and Weight Hormonal changes caused by the removal of the sexual organs affect the use by the body of nutrients. The animal needs a slightly lower caloric intake, so you should give less food or lower in fat and higher in protein food, and provide enough exercise. An animal feed waxen fat improperly operated or not.
• Character: After castration, the cat only radically change those behaviors linked to their hormones. What is possible is that not having the instinct to leave home in search of satisfying the zeal, it is normal that the animal becomes more docile, affectionate and quiet.
